The short version
The Halcyon Court Low is the best-finished upper in this round of testing and the worst-performing midsole. Both of those things are true at once, and the price only reflects the first.
What the lab measured
Energy return was 41.2 percent, which is poor even by lifestyle standards. Durometer read 63C, firm enough that our testers reported forefoot discomfort past 5km of walking. Stack was 22mm heel, 18mm forefoot.
The leather itself is genuinely good: full grain, cleanly stitched, and the panels held shape after 400km of wear with no creasing at the flex point.
Where it disappoints
Outsole wear was severe. Lug depth went from 3.2mm to 1.4mm, and the heel strike zone was down to the midsole foam on one pair. For a shoe positioned as a daily wear item, that is a twelve-month life at best.
Verdict
Handsome, hollow, overpriced. If you want the look there are better-constructed alternatives forty percent cheaper.
