Corso Runner Mid Review: The Commuter Shoe That Actually Runs

Most lifestyle runners collapse the moment you actually run in them. This one holds its geometry for a 5km commute and still looks acceptable at a desk.

The short version

The Corso Runner Mid is sold as a lifestyle shoe but is the only one in this group that survived our running protocol without structural complaint.

What the lab measured

Energy return 58.7 percent, which is unremarkable for a running shoe and excellent for this category. Durometer 55C, drifting only four points across 400km. Torsional rigidity was the highest in the lifestyle group.

Weight 302g in a UK 9, stack 28mm heel, 20mm forefoot.

Where it disappoints

The mid collar chafes without a crew sock, and the outsole squeaks badly on polished floors from around 150km. Neither is fatal, both are irritating.

Verdict

The best option here if your day involves a genuine commute rather than a walk to the car.
